Tacky Business--West Side--Medina Square
Description
This picture was taken shortly before the design committee tore away most of the facades to reveal the victorian style. When comparing the two its easy to see why the value tripled. Whitey's however, already fit the classic style and had little change whatsoever.

Whitey's today is just about exactly as it was sixty years ago when they took over. Even before Whitey's the buildings owner kept the constuction of the building well kept giving it its originality. Since the building itself was basically unchanged over the years it had more value to it than the buildings around it because all of the other buildings had remodeled to try to stay with the times. However the Community Design Committee tore down all the other facades that each building put up, but the CDC did not touch Whitey's because it was the same building that it had always been, adding even more to its value.
